Friday Faves: The Aerialists

12 Aug

The world as seen from high above is such a simple, orderly place.  I still remember the first time I looked out an airplane window and saw the neatly composed patterns of farmland down below.  And the rows of surburban homes lined up like so many monopoly houses on cul-de-sacs.  The snaking lines of rivers and mountain ranges.

This Friday’s round-up is full of images from artists who also find inspiration in the what can be seen from the sky.  Hope you enjoy the view!

Wonderful to hear from you, Margaret! I’m so happy you are enjoying the site and sharing it with your granddaughter. Both my grandmothers were painters & artists in their own right and were tremendous influences on me. I love that you are sharing your love of art with your young granddaughter!

      All the best,
      Lesley

Thanks for this, Lesley. I was surprised to see my own appear. I delete almost everything that appears in my email each day, but I never delete yours. There’s always something worthwhile on your blog. Thanks,
    Suzanne

Glad you saw this, Suzanne! I always try to either send the artists featured a link via Facebook or email, but was jetting out of town on Friday. But I love that it was a nice surprise waiting for you in your inbox! I’m happy to hear you’re still enjoying the blog.

      All the best,
      Lesley
